Learn fundamentals of belly dance while you tone and sculpt your core, improve posture, boost your confidence, expand your comfort zone, relieve stress, and much more! No prior dance experience required.

Belly Dancing celebrates femininity and good health of the mind, body, and spirit. Centuries ago, Belly Dancing was performed in preparation for child birth. It later evolved into a folk or social dance in many different countries in the Middle East and around the world. Today, you can find many different styles of Belly Dance including elegant and graceful Oriental, American Tribal Style based on group improvisation, and Tribal Fusion that mixes many different dance genres with Belly Dance.

Belly Dancing has many mental and physical benefits including, but not limited to stress relief, core strength, (low-impact) cardiovascular exercise, muscle toning (especially the core, arms, and gluteal muscles), improved posture and flexibility, and is also said to increase bone density, which helps with osteoporosis prevention.

Studio MB’s Fundamentals of Belly Dance focuses on basic movements and muscle isolations in a step-by-step format that’s easy to follow. Challenge your brain as well as your muscles with simple combinations to music! This class is your answer to a different, fun way to a low-impact toning exercise class. Join us and shimmy your way to better health!

When:  Thursdays from 7:00-8:00pm *Limited space available, first come first serve. Advanced registration recommended.

  • Develop muscle tone to properly control movements
  • Learn to isolate and control/relax different parts of the body
  • Practice basic belly dance movements, combinations & choreography
  • Focus on technique
  • Boost personal confidence level

I was recommended to take lower impact classes. Can I still take this course?
Absolutely! Gently strengthen muscles and increase flexibility, without the worry of medium or high impact movements. Studio MB’s Fundamentals of Belly Dance is a great way to exercise and have fun at a lower impact.
