Do you dress up to work out, or just throw on whatever stretchy clothing you can find? Here are a few reasons why you may want to change boring work out gear for some work it gear, and start “dressing up” to exercise!
- When you take the time to “dress up” in fitness apparel every time you go to exercise, you will send a signal to your brain that you’re ready to work out. You get in the mood, and you’re in the zone.
- Let’s face it, taking a few extra minutes to dress up is fun. It also makes you feel your best, which is a self-esteem booster! You look good, and feel good!
- When you put the two reasons mentioned above together, you’re more likely to work harder and get more out of your work out!
Now, when I say “dress up” to work out, I’m not talking about suits and prom dresses, jewelry and hair up do’s, or even skinny jeans and boots with heals. I mean putting on stylish apparel (suitable to work out in) that you like. This doesn’t mean that it has to be the most expensive fitness clothing you can find, either. Try getting a little creative and cutting an old t-shirt into a halter top. Experiment with wearing different colors. You could even add a few accessories to your look, like a head band or bracelets. Tip: make sure that nothing about your outfit limits your ability to perform the exercise, or that could cause injury.
Who said you can’t have fun and work hard at the same time? Add some flavor to your exercise routine, and dress up to work out! 😉
